AWARDS
In 2022, Louisa Reynolds was awarded the GLAAD Media Award, which honors fair, accurate and inclusive media representations of the LGBTQ+ community, in the outstanding Spanish-language online journalism category.
Her long-form narrative article Claudia García, la enfermera que lucha contra el Covid en Ciudad Juárez, published in Nexos and Perro Crónico, was described by the jury as “a moving piece centered on Claudia García, a trans woman and nurse working in Ciudad Juárez. The story includes her struggles in the field, contextualizes the impact of COVID-19 on nurses, and features some touching memories from Claudia about feeling affirmed and supported by her mother Luz at a young age. A deeply personal story that touches on very universal and timely themes.”

Previously, in 2013, Reynolds won the Gold Standard Award, awarded by Guatemalan-American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM), for the article Ganancias + Inclusión on indigenous entrepreneurs in Guatemala, published by regional business and finance magazine Estrategia&Negocios.
